August 2, 2012 Day 11 - Revelstoke to Kamloops, Canada

Today was a short day on the motorcycles as we traveled to from Revelstoke to Kamloops, British Columbia.  Kamloops is an Indian word that translates to "meeting of the waters."  In the city of Kamloops, two separate sections of the Thompson River merge and become one in the city, thus the name of Kamloop.

We awoke this morning to partly cloudy skies and cool temps.  Turns out that the weather folks were right as the storm that rolled in last evening said it's piece and moved on before sunrise.

Before hitting the pavement, we readied the motorcycles and enjoyed the sun.  Once we were on the road again, it was not stop beautiful scenery.  We are becoming convinced that there is a lake or some other water feature around every corner.

With today being a short distance ride on the bikes, we arrived in Kamloops around noon.  Our group took advantage of being in a medium size city and separated, going to different motorcycle shops to obtain parts and supplies for the motorcycles.  Towns with motorcycle shops are few and far between in British Columbia.

We all got together for a nice dinner at a place that over looked the city.  Then it was off to do laundry and some snack shopping to restock the bikes with snacks for the next few days.

Tomorrow we will be heading for Vancouver, British Columbia, arriving on the Pacific Coast. We intend to stop in the resort town of Whistler along the way.
